This section contains information related to the SAE Resatraints Task Group, which developed the SAE J2259 standard, Wheelchair Tiedown and Occupant Restraint for Use in Motor Vehicles. In 2000, it was decided to combine the SAE-Restraints Task Group with the ANSI/RESNA Subcommittee on Wheelchairs and Transportation (SOWHAT) due to the commonality of membership and purpose.
